My time in Guatemala last summer shifted my trajectory. I realized that the reason behind a child’s development isn't just found in a textbook. It’s found in their environment, their nutrition, and the resources available to their community. This is why I aspire to become a child developmental psychologist. I not only want to learn as many perspectives as possible, I want to make a difference, I want to be a leader. This has been possible through leadership intensives such as PALS (Peace Ambassador Leadership Summit) by NVEE and AMP Global Youth. I want to give a huge thanks to my parents, friends, teachers, and directors who have helped me grow, so far, into the student I am right now. As a high school Freshman, I want and plan on taking as many steps as I can to become a leader. I have always been strangely shy, - it's ironic, I know - but when I arrived at PALS, I knew I could take initiative and be a leader. My purpose in life, at least so far, is to make a difference, but I'm only just one person. I would appreciate any kind of donation or just a share, to spread the word.
